Progress in the vaping industry does not stand still, but on the contrary, it is gaining more and more momentum every month, drawing both manufacturers and customers into a real “arms race”, forcing to constantly increase capacities, the number of spirals, the size of devices, and the technical “trick” and battery capacity. All this now often leads to the appearance of patterns to which the ordinary, ordinary user does not even know which way to approach.
iStick Basic box
Fortunately, Eleaf also continues to take care of the mass steam worker who does not need record capacities and is not going to take part in cloud chasing competitions, but instead needs a simple, inexpensive, compact and reliable device that can please him every day, satisfying the need for soaring.
And today we are reviewing just such a device – iStick Basic.
Even from the name it is clear that our hero does not have enough stars from the sky in terms of technical bells and whistles or maximum power, and performs only the basic function of providing the user with a delicious steam. Let’s see how well he does it.
BOX AND ITS CONTENT
The box is traditionally white for Eleaf, but compared to the boxes of previously released models it’s a bit more fun. However, the most important thing is not the box, but its contents, so we hasten to open it.
Inside, we see a small and elegant battery pack, a 14 mm clearomizer, a rather unusual eGo adapter (more about that later), as well as a USB cable, instructions and a spare replaceable evaporator. The kit is not particularly luxurious, but they didn’t save on anything.

TAKE HANDS
We take the iStick out of the box and understand that it has an unusual design that has never been seen before in Eleaf devices – a real shaft for the 14-mm clearomizer opens on the upper end, into which the included clearomizer fits almost entirely – only the lid with a mouthpiece sticks out . And in order for the clearomizer to hold firmly inside the mine, and at the same time it can be easily removed from there for refueling, a special magnetic adapter is screwed to the clearomizer from below on the 510th connector, which “sticks” to the magnetic connector at the bottom. Original and, I must say, quite convenient.
Before sending a clearomizer with an adapter to its place in the mine, let’s take a look at him too. Judging by the inscription, it is called GS Air 2, and GS Air differs quite a lot from the previous version. Firstly, it is thinner than its predecessor and has a diameter of only 14 mm, and secondly, a traditional ring for adjusting the air supply appeared on it from below. No more screws and screwdrivers, just like the “adult” clearomizers. As for the replaceable evaporator, it’s the same GS Air evaporator, but looking at it more closely, we see that it has a resistance of only 0.75 Ohms. Why did we need an evaporator with a lower resistance, it will soon become clear to us.
Clearomizer tank – tempered glass, volume – 1.8 ml., Metal mouthpiece, removable, 510 format.
We have nothing more to say about the clearomizer, so we put it in the box mod shaft and carefully look at what we ended up with.

The first impression of iStick Basic when you take it in your hands is how compact and elegant it is, just lovely! In the hand, due to the small size, rounded shapes and tapering part with clearomirez, it lies perfectly, completely fits in a fist. After some modern devices that are equally awesome in both specifications and sizes, it’s just a breath of fresh air.
The button is located on one of the side surfaces (its face does not turn to be called a “face”), you can press it with your thumb or index finger. The button itself, apparently made of metallized plastic, “walks” a little, but it behaves quietly and does not rattle if the device is shaken. There is an LED indicator under the button, but since it is not transparent, it is not visible from this side. But this same LED perfectly illuminates the shaft for the atomizer, and through special slots in the case, which are designed to control the liquid level, it is clearly visible. However, his light is almost stronger through a hole in the USB port located at the top of the mod and designed to charge the built-in battery.
The iStick Basic case is traditionally stamped aluminum for the iStick line, which is quite light in itself. The texture and quality of the coating is the same as that of the iStick 30, that is, everything is fine, it resists scratches quite successfully. There are different color options.
Assembled with a clearomizer, our hero weighs only 130 grams. Almost weightless, does not burden even a graceful female pen.
